Glenallachie Distillery is situated on the hill above Aberlour in the shadow of Ben Rinnes in the central Speyside region. The distillery id fairly new, having been built in 1967. It was closed between 1987 and 1989 and reopened when it was sold by Invergordon to Campbell Distillers which is a subsidiary of Pernod Ricard. Official bottlings of Glenallachie are very rare as most of the spirit is used in the Chivas blends.
