This old Edinburgh distillery based in the west end of the city is no longer with us, having been shut down. At one time the city boasted 18 distilleries, alas now none remain though a brewery bearing the name is still working. In the 1880ís the distillery produced malt whisky for a brief spell. It started in 1855 and closed in 1988. It was owned at that time of closure by Guinness (Now Diageo) the distillery was demolished and is now covered in houses. Sadly, the value of property is greater than the value of spirit.
