The Aberlour distillery was established in 1826 and sits in the picturesque village of the same name. The distillery uses water from St Drostanís well which was believed to be sacred by local druids in the 6th century. The water was used for baptisms by St Drostan, who became Archbishop of Canterbury in AD960.
